The Short-faced Bear was the largest terrestrial mammalian carnivore that ever lived. It supposably died out 10,000 years ago, but some sightings talk about a gigantic bear. One sighting talks about a speciman called the MacFarlene's Bear, but the best evidence was a bear shot in Alaska. The bear's paws were the width of a man's chest.
